Everything is going great at the orphanage, a lot o the children are still sick. We discovered a couple more rooms of children today, one was all little boys. In the newborn room it looked like their was one more in there that had been just born. Many of the babies are brought to the orphanage and left on the front doorstep. Teenage pregnancies are a shame to the family so while the girl is pregnant they hide her, then she has the baby and off it goes. Its very routine there, BUT it has to be to handle the number of children that they are. OH yeah I got busted for taking pictures, so I dont think I will be able to get anymore... But I will try maybe on my last day. I still want to bring an armfull of them home-- its good to see even in the short amount of time that I have been there that some of the babies are getting adopted. (Especially the ones I like). I got a phone call this afternoon and now the orpahange is not having us there tomorrow or friday, so now Kirsten can't come tomorrow with us. She is going to try and come next week. We are spending the weekend in Essaouira, that is where scenes from Orson Wells film Othello were shot in 1949. It is a small coastal town with a big fish and spice souq. Also, this city is where Jimi Hendrix got his inspiration for the song Castles in the Sand. They say its a wind surfers dream to visit Essaouira. We will be staying in a Riad. That is an old traditional residence that is organized around a courtyard planted with trees and flowers. The Riads are located inside the medina so no cars are allowed, you have to walk to the Riad from the outside walls. We will be taking a train from Rabat to Marrakech (4 hours) then switching to a bus to Essaouira (4 hours) then a cab to the medina, then walking to our Riad. Long traveling time, but it will be worth the wait. Bell just rang for dinner. Talk to you all soon.
